On Sunday 8 September , the Pavilion team of Maldon Croquet Club, Al Brown, Neil Grandy, John Hustwick and Neil Clark, travelled to a neutral venue at Ipswich. They met up with a team from Hunstanton to play for a place in the final of the East Anglian League. The match was made up of a series of 18 games played over the whole day. The games were played in a competitive, but friendly spirit, with Maldon finishing the day by winning 12 games to 6.
This is the first time in Maldon’s history that they have progressed this far in the competition. The play off against Enfield will take place at Newport, Essex on 22 September, when hopes are high that the trophy will come to Maldon as outright winners.
